Blocks will NOT be made in a quilt and will be returned to the
creators. This challenge is for Crossroads to Texas Guild members
only. There is NOT a specific challenge fabric - use your imagination! |
| 2. |
Block size: 15 inches square finished. Blocks are to be quilted and
have finished edges (you do not have to bind the block; it may be sewn
shut with a plain stitch or fancy, may be bound if you choose or any
other method of closing the edges). The blocks will be hung by pinning
them to a drape which is why the edges need to be finished. |
| 3. |
Judging: Original designs, dimensional flowers, embellishments,
hand-dyed fabric, painted designs, etc. are all part of the challenge.
Artistic creativity and originality as well as workmanship, use of
color, and appropriateness of the design to the theme will be the
criteria for judging. |
| 4. |
There will only be one category, not separate ones for pieced,
appliqued or combined techniques. First, second, and third place
ribbons will be awarded. |
| 5. |
The blocks are due by September 8, 2008, to allow time for planning
the display. The blocks may be turned in at Quilt Guild meetings in
August or arrangements may be made to have them delivered at another
time/place than the September 8 deadline. |
| 6. |
There is no charge to enter the block
challenge and no written evaluation will be given by the judges. This
is suppose to be a fun challenge, so don't stress! Let your creativity
run wild! |
