2024 Quilt Show Rules
A quilt is defined by this committee as having three layers – a top, a middle made of batting or flannel, and a back. All three layers must be connected (either quilted or tied), edges of the quilt must be bound or faced. No false backs. All entries should adhere to this definition with the exception of special techniques such as cathedral windows, yo-yos, and wool quilts. Wearables and home décor must have these three layers and raw edges enclosed.
It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that all copyright laws have been followed. Credit should be given to the pattern designer, or in the case of an original design, the inspiration source.
Entries should not contain any offensive, rude, crude, vulgar language and/or images.
All entries will be completed online. You may enter up to 6 entries at one time.
Judged entries are $10 each for members and $12 for non-members. Exhibit-only entries are $6 each. Payment will be accepted online (for the total cost of entries $10 and above) or by personal check made payable to CTTQG.
President’s Challenge is open to dues-paying members. Members may enter more than one piece. There is no entry fee for the President’s Challenge.
Special quilting awards will be awarded to the quilter of the entry. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure the quilter receives the award.
The deadline for entering the show is Monday, July 22, 2024, at noon local time.
All quilts should be “Quilt Show Ready”. The Guild defines this as clean, free of animal hair, and free of odors, including smoke and perfume. This will be strictly enforced.
Quilts previously entered in a Crossroads to Texas quilt show (any year) are not eligible.
Every quilt must have an open-ended 4” rod pocket sewn to the top of the back of the quilt for display purposes. If you are entering an extra-long quilt, please sew the rod pocket at 90” from the bottom of the quilt. Exceptions include table runners, miniatures, and other small items.
Each entry should have a medium-sized binder clip (about 1.25″ wide) attached to the bottom of the quilt to attach the description sheet to the quilt after judging.
Each entry must be submitted in its own fabric bag with the entrant’s name, address, and phone number written with a permanent fabric marker onto the bag or on a label sewn onto the bag. Additionally, safety pin a photo of your quilt on the bag.
Each entry must have a fabric identification label sewn on the lower corner of the back of the quilt. The label must include the entrant’s name and the title of the entry. Please cover your label with a fabric scrap or painter’s tape. This cover may be safety pinned.
Entry drop-off will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 2- 6 p.m. at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center (use the far-left door on the front). Entry pick-up is at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center (center door).
The Quilt Show Committee reserves the right to:
refuse any entry deemed inappropriate or which fails to meet entry requirements.
move an entry to a different category.
combine or separate categories based on the number of quilts entered.
All rule enforcement is up to the discretion of the Quilt Show Committee.
